WC-Co Adhesion (ASTM C633)

Sample buttons of 1” diameter were coated with 0.015” nominal coating thickness of KM WC-Co for quantitative adhesion testing per ASTM C633. Inovati utilized the testing services and capabilities of Metcut Research, a well qualified and experienced vendor with thermal spray coating testing, for this testing. Inovati deposited the coatings and delivered the coated test buttons to Metcut. FM1000 adhesive film was used to bond the coated samples to the appropriate tensile testing fixtures. This adhesive is selected for its 10,000psi nominal adhesion strength. Four (4) coated buttons of each substrate were tested for statistical purposes, with the results presented below.

The failure mode for all samples was epoxy failure on non-coated side of button, indicating true coating adhesion strength well in excess of the listed maximum stress
